Low-pressure Forged Swing Check Valves

We have carried out independent innovation research on low-pressure whole flange forged steel swing check valves after doing a lot of market research, fully communicating with users and collecting users' technical requirements. It is found that when the series of valves are in operation, once failures of the valve occur, such as leakages caused by the sealing surface, breaking of valves, results in economic losses and poses a great threat to personnel safety. Aiming at the defects of existing products, this project has determined the research direction of this project through a large number of tests and analyses, referring to the latest advanced literature at home and abroad, and related research.
 
Designing low-pressure whole flange forged swing check valves
(1) Designing valve bodies and valve seat expansion joints
There are many connections between the separate valve seat and the valve body of the check valve, among which the commonly used four forms are threaded connections, welding, flanging fixing and expansion joint. The expansion joint is used for replacing the flanging fixing to ensure the quality of the product. After inspecting similar products, in view of the existing problems, the valve seat's expansion joint and its sealing mechanism were reconfirmed.
 
(2) Designing body and bonnet bolts
The valve body and bonnet are connected by bolts for valves designed according to this connection, and they are sealed by the wound gasket, which is convenient for maintenance.
 
(3) Designing swing cover plate groove milling machines
The processing of the valve requires milling. The milling process has been carried out after the clamping process is carried out relying on the experience of the workers. In the process of clamping, the automatic milling of accurate valve positioning has always been a problem that needs to be solved in valve processing. The swing-type cover plate milling machine developed in this project can precisely clamp the valve and then perform automatic milling. During operation, there is a regulating mechanism, which can continuously correct and adjust to meet the requirements for the maximum range of use. It is easy to operate, and implement and has simple structure.
 
(4) Designing nameplate slots
Since the original nameplate is placed on the boss of the cover plate and is fixed by rivets, it is easy to fall off. To solve this problem, the cover plate is designed with a groove in the middle to facilitate the placement of the nameplate. Before placing the nameplate, make the groove flat by turning to facilitate the insertion of the nameplate. After placing the nameplate, fix its four corners with a chisel to ensure the firmness of the nameplate.
 
Innovation aspects
(1) The expansion joint process is adopted for the valve seat and valve body to reduce their matching gaps, and it is controlled between 0.05 and 0.15mm. The punch wedge angle is preferably 15° to control the size of the deformation area and reduce the rebound, improve the firmness of the valve seat, reduce the process, and improve the quality and efficiency of the product.
(2) The nameplate groove slot is set on the cover plate instead of fixing by rivets. It is easy to place the nameplate; the overall appearance is beautiful and the nameplate is not easy to fall off.
(3) Design the swing-type cover plate groove milling machine. After the valve is accurately clamped, the automatic milling is carried out. There is a real-time regulating mechanism, which can continuously correct and adjust to meet the requirements of the maximum range of use, and effectively increase productivity.
 
Prospects and measures for promotion and applications
Forged steel valves are mainly used in the pipelines of various systems in thermal power plants to cut off or connect the pipeline's medium. Applicable media are non-corrosive media such as water and steam. Compared with other valves, forged steel valves are characterized by high temperatures, high-pressure resistance, and unique self-sealing. The forged valve has characteristics that cannot be replaced by other valves due to its special performance and special working conditions.
 
Generally speaking, a forged steel valve is equivalent to valves made of twice cast steel. To a large extent, the practicability, safety and operability of the valve are guaranteed. The structure of the forged steel valve is much finer than that of the cast steel valve. In terms of mechanical properties, it has better performance than that of the cast steel valve. The structure obtained by casting is a structure with coarse grains, and the grains obtained by forging are refined, that is, forged steel has good mechanical properties. If the composition is the same, the forged steel has better corrosion resistance, better pressure bearing capacity and superior performance.
