The Characteristics of Forging Workshop—Part One

The Characteristics of Forging Workshop—Part One

Sep 10, 2020

From the perspective of safety technology and labor protection, forging production is poccessed under the situation of scorching metal (such as forging temperature of low carcon steel between 1250-750℃). Due to a large amount of manual labour during the process, burns may occur if you are not careful.

1. The furnace and scorching steel ingot, workblank and forgings constantly emit a lot of radiant heat (while the forging process is end, there still exists relatively high temperature), which generates harmful radiant risk born by workers.

2. The gas generated from the buring process by furnace emitted to the forging workshop not only pollute the air, but also decrease the visibility (as for furnace for burning solid fuel, the situation is even worser), which may cause work accidents.

3. Devices like air hammer, steam hammer, friction press used for forging production, will bring impact force while working, which is prone to damage themselves as they bear such impact load (for example, the snap of forged hammer piston rod), then cause serious injury accidents.

4. Althought the impact force of press machine (such as hydraulic press, crank hot die forging press, flat forging machine, precision press, shearing machine, etc.) is low while working, sudden failure of devices will occur at times, which may also cause injury of operators off guard.
