When forged steel ball valves
are used, many problems are not caused by their own quality but their inappropriate installation and use. Inappropriate installation environment and positions, wrong directions or unclean pipelines can lead to problems of forged steel ball valves
. Therefore, following aspects should be paid attention to when forged steel ball valves
are installed and used.
Forged steel ball valves
belong to field instruments, which demand that environmental temperature should be within standard rating limits and relative humidity should be equal to or less than 95 percent. If forged steel ball valves
are installed in the open air or under the conditions of the high temperature, measures for waterproofing and lowering the temperature should be taken. In the places are with the earthquake centers, the forged steel valves
should be installed away from the centers of the earthquake, or the antivibration measures should be taken.
Forged steel ball valves
are generally installed horizontally. Under some special conditions, they can be installed obliquely. If the tilt angle is very big or the valves are too heavy, support elements should be installed to protect valves.
The pipelines on which forged steel ball valves
are installed should not be too far away from the ground or floor generally. When the height between pipelines and valves is more than two meters, platforms should be set up whenever possible so as to facilitate the maintenance of valves as well as the operation of hand wheels.
Before forged steel ball valves
are installed, pipelines should be cleaned, and sewage and welded slags are supposed to be removed. After installation, in order to make sure that no impurity stays inside valves, valves should be cleaned again. All valves should be opened when media are going through them so as to make the valves
not jammed. The hand wheel should be recovered to its original neutral position after it is used.
Bypass pipelines should be added to forged steel ball valves
in order to make forged steel ball valves
can still work normally if they are broken down or being maintained. At the same time, whether installation positions of control valves can meet the technological requirements should also be paid special attention to.
Oil should be added to decelerators of actuators after they are dismantled and repaired. After assembling, whether valves' positions match the opening position indicator should be checked.
There are some tips for the maintenance of forged steel ball valves. When ball valves are closed, there exists pressurized liquid inside valves. Before maintenance, relief the pressure of pipelines and make valves in the open position. Cut off power or air supply. Lock up actuators and bracket disengagement pieces. Install pipelines according to the medium's flow direction of valves.
